Spring 2016 Warblers

I had a great 2016 spring season photographing warbler species here in my home state of PA. Warblers are tiny migrants. Most average around 5 inches in length and many spend the winter in Central or South America. Here in PA the first migrants arrive in April and the migration lasts through mid to late May. By June the warblers you find are more than likely on their breeding grounds and are busy getting the nesting season under way. During the spring season is a great time to see and photograph them as the males are in their stunning colorful plumages. Below is a photo collage I put together with 20 species I photographed during the 2016 spring season here in the state of Pennsylvania. IIt was definitely one of my best spring seasons photographing these marvelous avian wonders.
